Finding an internship that allows you to be creative, build new skills, and work alongside people who genuinely want to see you succeed isn’t always easy. That’s what has made my experience with Tembo Creative Agency so meaningful.
My First Steps
I first joined Tembo Creative Agency in August as a Content Creation Intern. From the very beginning, I had the chance to get into the field and create content for a variety of properties and businesses throughout the Sylva and Cashiers areas. My days were spent capturing photos, filming videos, and creating social media reels that highlighted everything from stunning mountain views to unique experiences.
One of my favorite parts of the role was learning how much thought and creativity go into telling a property’s story. Whether I was photographing amenities, capturing special moments, or filming content for social media, every project challenged me to look at things from a new perspective while strengthening my photography and videography skills.
Continuing My Journey
This summer, I stepped into a new role as a Marketing Intern with Tembo Creative Agency. While the work looks a little different from my content creation projects, it has been just as rewarding. So far, I’ve had the opportunity to write blog posts for a variety of properties, creating content designed to inform, inspire, and connect with future visitors and owners.
As a Communication major with a minor in Hospitality and Tourism, this experience has brought together so many of the things I’m passionate about. I’ve been able to take what I’ve learned in the classroom and apply it to real projects, gaining hands-on experience in both digital marketing and content creation along the way.

What has stood out most throughout both internships is the people. The team at Tembo Creative Agency has created an environment where learning feels natural. They’ve encouraged me to share ideas, try new things, and take on challenges that have pushed me outside my comfort zone in the best possible way.
When I look back on everything I’ve worked on so far, it’s incredible to see how much I’ve grown. From creating reels and capturing photos to writing blogs and now contributing to marketing initiatives, every project has taught me something new and helped me build confidence in my abilities.
I’m excited to continue my journey with Tembo Creative Agency and see where it leads next. If these past several months have taught me anything, it’s that some of the best opportunities come from saying yes to new experiences, and I can’t wait to see what’s ahead.
